Can this be placed outdoors if under an eve?

Looking at the dimensions, is the inner lip of the lamp shade only out about 2 inches from wall while hanging off gooseneck?
There is a 3” gap between the wall and the lampshade

I do not know why they show it with a plug as the one I purchased was for hard wire only.

No cord, you hard wire it to a cord or box , no on off switch you install that. It’s just like a normal light you have on the ceiling in your house. A light, and a switch

Hello, yes now it has plug-in components and you can chose it installed as hardwired or plug-in. It was hardwired before.
