It has been awhile, but to my memory it does have a bracket that mounts to your existing ceiling mounted box.

After installation, there is approximately 4" of clearance from the ceiling to the fixture.

Hello, Lolo G. Just went and measured and the answer is a "no" on the 12 inches. The diameter; (the width across), is about 21 inches. The height; (how far it hangs from the ceiling), is about inches. Hope this helps.
Can you use cfl bulbs?
Yes, the base is E26, you can use incandescent bulbs, CFLs and LED bulbs. Thank you.
Is this light dimmable
Dimmability is determined by the bulb you put into the fixture and the switch that you wire the fixture too. If you have a dimming switch that is compatible with a dimmable bulb, then yes.
How do you change the bulbs?
The cages come away from their bases by unscrewing the small brass nuts as seen in the picture. It's not hard at all but there are quite a few of them. I would highly recommend this light fixture. It is very nice for the price.

What color is the metal of this light? The description says oil rubbed bronze, but it appears more black in the photos.
It does say that, but it is black. The light bulbs are going to be a pain because you have to unscrew each on. It still looks good.
The quality was great! I was a bit worried about not being able to find a bulb but it was mo problem. Home depot has them. They have to be the narrow long bulb in order for it to fit. We put the light in the hallway and it lights it up nicely.
Great purchase even tho the lights were a bit larger than I expected. Still loved the overall bathroom remodel.
Looks more expensive than it is. I need better bulbs but it is dimmable and beautiful . Looks great with but doesn’t match exactly delta champagne bronze
